On November 28, 1973, I stood before the bench in the old Glynn County Courthouse and took an oath to “justly and uprightly demean myself, according to the laws, as an attorney, counselor, and solicitor . . . .” I entered the practice of law at a time when there were no computers, cell phones, or facsimile machines. If you needed to make a copy, you “burned a copy on the Thermofax machine.” There were about 35 lawyers in Glynn County and only two Superior Court Judges in the five county Brunswick Judicial Circuit. It was a much simpler time.
I grew up in Brunswick, Georgia, and wanted to begin my professional career here, raise our five children here and share my expertise with my clients. I started with a three-man law firm for the first 2½ years, and in 1976 was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney for Camden, Glynn, Wayne, Appling, and Jeff Davis Counties.
In 1979 I returned to private practice and since that time the focus of my practice has been the resolution of the types of problems related to the day-to-day lives of my clients. I immediately began to center my practice upon areas such as criminal law, family law, small estate planning, collections and creditors’ rights, and small business affairs for people residing in Brunswick and the Golden Isles, as well as those residing in adjoining counties such as McIntosh, Brantley, Ware, and Liberty Counties.
I enjoy working with clients and helping them solve their problems in a manner that helps them understand the situation they are in, educates them as to the alternatives available to them, and obtains a result that will be in their best interests. I would like the opportunity to do the same for you.
